Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. Which hopefully means you are somehow interested in travelling by train in Europe. This makes me thrilled!
Who am I? My name is Eveline, environmental engineer with a passion for travel and creative stuff, such as writing, sustainable fashion and photography. Originally from the countryside in the middle of Sweden, but have also spent a lot of my time in Norway, Oslo, as I'm half Norwegian. Currently living in Gothenburg, but travelling as much as I can around Europe.
Growing up, I spent a lot of time on the train between Norway and Sweden. Where was where my passion for travelling started. On the train, I felt calm and alive. You could read a book, listen to music or just sit there and watch the landscape change outside of the window. For me, train travel has always been an adventure and a way for me to feel close to the planet and the local community.
Because when you travel by train, you not only get to see the country and visit new cities you never would have seen by taking the airplane, but you also travel more consciously and emit less CO2.
Rail Voyage is train travel inspiration
Rail Voyage is a way for me to share my train travel experiences in Europe, so that you also can experience the magical world of train travelling. I will provide you with hacks and tricks for making the train planning and trip easier. Because transport can really be a part of your adventure!
I want to provide you with inspiration for travelling to new places in Europe, maybe even less known or touristic, because Europe is so amazing with its ancient history and cultures. When you travel in Europe, you really travel through time!
Another goal for me with the Rail Voyage is for you to see slower ways of travelling, such as the train, bike, car, walking as an option when you travel. And don't forget - even taking the train one way instead of the airplane saves a lot of emissions!
Some first travel inspiration
What would a travel blog be without talking about your favourite destinations? For me it's Italy, I love the culture, the architecture, the food, the cities and the people. But this summer we went to France and rented bikes. The picture above is lavender fields we passed on our bike trip. Amazing! Felt like a dream trip, but will tell you more about it soon!
Hope you will enjoy the Rail Voyage! See you soon with more blog posts! Ciao!
